I live in the United States and was completely impressed by the management assistance to us when we were looking for a care home for my mum. My brother and I were able to visit this month and we are thrilled to experience our mum’s new home.
The facility is beautiful, personal room lovely, the individual attention to all residents is outstanding, activities are scheduled, meals are excellent, and the staff are all exceptionally sweet, caring, kind, and an absolute joy to have looking after our mum. This is an exceptionally well run home, from management to all of the daily staff, and our appreciation is hard to express in words. Thank you, everyone. On arrival we are always greeted with a smile, the home is spotless. The staff are amazing with relatives and visitors. There is always someone at hand if you need anything. Since mum has been there she’s had her glasses n hearing aids all sorted out, they really are on the ball. Since mums been there she is eating a lot better, and sleeping all night. I have to say a big thank you to all staff and a big thank you to Connie the manager she’s amazing she keeps the home running like clock work. KC daughter of resident 12/2019
My mother continues to have a full and rewarding life at Avon House. She has made good friends and is very fond of the staff. The manager and deputy do a good job keeping us up to date and involving us in any decisions. The local GP also provides great support to the home. Each time I visit I come away thankful that mum is happy and is in such good hands.

Avon House is a warm, friendly and caring home. Every resident is treated as an individual, and we as a family are always made very welcome. The atmosphere is like a family home, and definitely not like an institution. My father-in-law received an extremely high standard of individualised care whilst a resident at Avon House. The staff were always outstandingly caring and professional. My mother has been living at Avon House since August 2016. I cannot praise the staff and management enough. She is completely settled and cared for perfectly. The staff are kind and caring and my mum's needs are always met. After visiting, I always come away knowing I have nothing to worry about. "My sister B was a resident in Avon House for over 2.5 years. I visited her regularly at least twice a month, in all that time I could find nothing to complain about Barbara could not have had a more wonderful home to spend her last years in. Whenever I visited her I was always invited to stay for lunch with her (no charge), and the food presented at a very high standard. The carers were so loving and nothing was to much trouble for them. When they knew Barbara was dying the four carers on duty stayed with her until the end. I know that Barbara could not have ended her days in a more loving and caring home. I have been very pleased with the warm care and attention which my mother has received at Avon House. She has been a resident for almost 6 months and every effort has been made to help her recuperate and retain her sense of self, dignity and interest in the world. W became resident at Avon House just after her 101st birthday. She had managed in her own home up till then. She was wonderfully cared for by the dedicated owners and their staff. Wyn loved walking and the staff ensured she had a walk every day whilst it was still feasible. My mother lived at Avon house for over 6 years. The last 2 years, the home was run by the present owners. Mum had many problems as a result of a stroke and when my father died we had no choice but to put Mum into a home. We chose Avon house because it really is a home from home. The rooms are very comfortable and ensuite and arranged so the bathroom divides the sitting area from the sleeping area. The bathroom is cleaned daily. The staff are on call day and night and come promptly when one rings the bell. They are very attentive and friendly. The meals are excellent and we have breakfast and supper in our rooms.
